Today marks the 12th anniversary of the murder of writer Robert Tewdwr Moss - his Syria travel book
Cleopatra's Wedding Present is just out again; check Amazon. Follow labels for my pieces on him. It's a pity the new edition of the book is minus an essay on him: I am sure people would want to know something of his life and death. And whatever happened to the literary prize that was to have been set up in his name? I am writing to his estate to find out - money was given by many after his memorial service. What's to stop me setting up the prize?
I'm sorry, Mme A. I'll be thinking of you and his other friends.
ReplyDeleteA prize would certainly be a good thing to see. Estates are tricky things.
Thank you Ms B. I don't why setting up the prize would be tricky - though idleness and indifference can be tricky things to deal with. I could announce now the Robert Tewdwr Moss Travel Literature Prize - £5,000 to the winner each year. People banned from judging would include every salaried travel writer on newspapers and anyone I personally disliked. I do hope there's nothing untoward about the non-existence of this Prize.
