'Jeremy Paxman offered Independent editorship'

Well, that was the rumour at Groucho's last night. No idea if true or whether Paxman is even interested. But it's said Alexander Lebedev is impressed by the crashing snob.

  3. I nearly met him when I represented my University at University Challenge. We never had the cut. Sigh. Paxo is good, came across as v human when the Who do you think you are? crew filmed him weeping over granny Paxo getting knocked off the dole in 1899. In other words starving.

  6. Watch out for Matthew Bell. He'll be editor of something soon.

  7. It's certainly true a few gossers have reached the editor's chair. Perhaps Matthew will strive for Majesty mag ascension or something.

Ingrid Seward was an ignorant sow when she was anointed as the Playboy publicist.
