Greg Dyke to be next editor of The Independent

I hear on good authority that the BBC's former D-G Greg Dyke is about to be signed up as the next editor of the Independent. I wholly approve of this appointment if true. He has newspaper savvy and he is not pig ignorant.

New proprietor Alexander Lebedev has gone up in my estimation even if he toyed with Rod Liddle.

This would, indeed, be good news. He doesn't need the money, so would only ever be doing it for the challenge, and would not be beholden to the proprietor. A shame that he's not still running the BBC, but there you go.

The image of Lebedev toying with Liddle has adhered itself to my imagination and won't go away. Ooh help, Liddle's started moaning...

'fortunately a lot of what he says is not racist, sexist or right-wing moronic'
Fcks sake Madame, if thats your criteria, might as well have Molly Parkin as the next editor of the Inde. It would keep Molly off the streets and might give you access to some real gossip for a change. :)

If you know where I can find some "real goss" do let the world know. If the next editor of the Indie is not a right-wing moron then thank your god.

I noticed that Lebedev now takes the plural form. Yevgeni is centre stage. The son also rises!
