Flew back from Washington last night (or was it morning?) and am too exchausted to tell you about Baltimore's HonFest, a most astonishing Baltimore post-Warhol-like museum and segging along Washington walkways (and an accidental visit to Washington Pride). You'll have to wait a bit, perhaps till tomorrow.
Meantime my darling friend Molly Parkin has written about her new gig as DJ at London gay club The Green Carnation ... (I haven't time to lower-case the caps or cap the lower-cases ...)
DARLING MA, THE TIMES NEWSPAPER is running a piece today, which they commisioned from Sophie, about my latest venture as DJ every Tuesday, 9pm -1am, at THE GREEN CARNATION (gay club), 5 GREEK STREET, IN SOHO.
SOPHIE AND CARSON, HER DAUGHTER, MY GRANDAUGHTER, JOIN ME AS 'THE PARKIN LOT'. TOU CAN READ IT AT 'TIMES ONLINE'. WE HAVE ONLY JUST BEGUN, BUT I KEEP WONDERING IF YOU MAY SHOW UP AND ME NOT KNOW YOU, UNLESS YOU INTRODUCE YOURSELF. MIGHT YOU DO THAT, MAYBE TONIGHT?
IT WOULD BE FUN TO MEET BECAUSE I DO HAVE YOU TO THANK FOR THE DELUGE OF PUBLICITY AND MEDIA INTEREST SINCE THAT VERY FIRST INTERVIEW WITH MADAME ARCATI, A FEW YEARS AGO. IT KICK-STARTED ME OFF AGAIN AND LIFE , INCOGNITO BY CHOICE, WAS PRETTY WONDERFUL BEFORE, BUT NOW IT IS ACTION- PACKED AS IT USED TO BE, BUT WITHOUT THE BOOZE.
I AM WRITING THE SCREENPLAY, WITH A SCRIPTWRITER, OF MY LIFE FOR A FILM COMPANY. REAL ACTORS AND ACTRESSES PLAYING ME AND THE LOVERS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS. A VAST LANDSCAPE, LOVERS ALONE!! AND WHEN THIS IS COMPLETED BY THE END OF THIS MONTH, I PLAN TO TURN ALL 10 OF MY COMIC-EROTIC NOVELS INTO SCREENPLAYS , TOO.
GATHERING TOGETHER A REPERTORY OF BRITISH THESPIANS, LIKE THE 'CARRY-ON' FILMS DID, OR 'DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE' - HOW I WOULD WELCOME MARGARET RUTHERFORD ABOARD FOR THESE VENTURES!! SHE NEVER DID PLAY COMIC-EROTICA , DID SHE?

I'll be going along tomorrow for the first time. It should be good. I hear Sophie banished a DJ recently because he dared play the Magic Numbers who are clearly too current... despite being retro...if that makes sense.
