Kevin Spacey and his five mile high business class experience - carbon x 2?
The ad would appear to suggest Kev has booked two seats for himself - look how he places his tickets to his left where someone else might be expected to sit. Would someone work out his carbon footprint, please.
It's a fine thing to wonder about the size of his carbon footprint, but even better to meditate on one's one. For my part, I should copy Madame's example and cycle more often. For her part, perhaps Madame should swim to Maldives (or Australia) on her next adventure.
Forget this Spacey drip for a moment. I have just watched that astonishing film 'Gaslight', starring Ingrid Bergman, Charles Boyer, and Joseph Cotton, released in 1944. One of the newly astonishing things about it is that the tarty maid is played by Angela Lansbury who, 65 years later and even as I write, is taking curtain calls on Broadway playing Madame Arcati.
An excellent spot, Madame - what a sharp eye you have. The Anon who thinks Spacey places his tix on the armrest is, as Madame would put it, a glancer not a looker. In fact on repeat viewing, you can see something has been placed in the other seat to prevent any annoying person playing neighbour. Appalling.
Dear Duncan, Gaslight is a fab film - I've seen it soooo many times. Isn't Boyer a right one? Angela always made a good tart, excellent training for the apogee of her thespian talent 65 years later, as me. It's hard to get over myself, I can tell you. xx
I assume the late Lord Goldsmith was a little tipsy when he or she foolishly wrote his or her little note. The private 'tec you refer to is a well known person specialising in using illegal methods to identify blog writers - and I know who hired him last time. So tread cautiously, my sweet.
It's ambiguous. The business class seats are quite spacious. If you stop the film just as he sits down, you can plainly see part of the armrest belonging to Spacey's seat where he puts his tickets. Presumably armrests are to the left of each seat. Of greater interest is that in the rows in front of him, both seats are filled, whereas Spacey can look forward to a flight alone. Story of his life.
Tabernak! Did you notice he has the whole theatre for himself as well ? What a shameless waste of energy ! Seriously, you should thank that man for not using a private jet on top of it all ! :-)
"Gaslight" is one of my all-time favorite movies too. Bergman and Boyer are simply tremendous in it.
//if those ARE two seats than he probably reserved one for his ego... And I apologize, I am the author in the statement regarding gluttony...what the hell, he and I have NEVER seen eye to eye..the last time we had words was at SEATAC...airport so, touche! s!
Oooh, there's two of you Steph. Remember, I have to moderate comments hence the delay. You're right about Spacey's ego - a man who has a theatre all to himself, and perhaps two airline seats, and goes to a street shoeshine, clearly has an ego to be catered for. And American Airlines has done a mighty fine job.
Steph is the former sister-in-law of Spacey just in case you're a Twitter newcomer or whatever.
Spacey is the master of his domain. That's what the ad's saying. And AA is the outfit to enable him,. Even in the sky he is the director. I notice he has no hand luggage, nor is there some fat woman that he has to sidle around, nor some trolley dolly ladling out the champers. Service today!
I agree with drf that Spacey is a drip and any story involving him is a boring subject, so I took his recommendation to investigate about Gaslight. I too found that video of Lansbury that you have posted in your Video Bar and other videos about her life‘s work (she is brilliant). Boy, Murder She Wrote really was a low in her career! I did enjoy MSW the first two, maybe three seasons, but the interesting plots quickly (VERY quickly) declined after that (it’s not that they got predictable, they made such an effort not go give away the outcome they got absurd and all about how “adorable“ Mrs. Fletcher was - blaaargh!), to the point she wanted out by the SIXTH and it still lasted TWELVE seasons (it probably had to do something with her son being the producer - the things some moms would do for their children).
I didn’t want to post a comment until I watched Gaslight; I don’t recall ever watching it and if I had, I think I would remember, 1) because I just love anything with I. Bergman (love her voice and her accent - I pay a lot of attention to the way people sound when they speak; I find it’s a very important aspect of any individual - some physically unattractive people can be so sexy just because of their voice) and 2) IT IS TERRIFIC! Cukor could be so good with the right material! Why aren’t movies like that made anymore? Darn! It is so hard to come across good movies these days… in any genre!
I found the whole thing in Youtube by this member: www.youtube.com/watch? v=JvNQv6Ro26w&feature=channel if you have the patience to watch it this way… (and can do it comfortably - laptop).
In the subject of good movies, I also found this... I’m not sure how www.youtube.com/watch? v=K3GeazWaU8E&feature=related It’s uncensored and it is also the whole thing.
Like any of Broka’s work is a cruel slap in the face; You spend the whole story feeling so bad for everyone involved and although it all ends well, it reminds us of how vein we can be and how it could stop us from finding happiness if we let our prejudices rule us.
Kevin's involvement in the American airline commercial displayed his lack of respect...in these worst economic times.. coupled with his arrogant behavior. It displays how he feels about the "regular" people..When you endorse a product it is because you believe in the product.. it's called "Strum un Drang" (storm and stress) BTW steph~
Actually, it is sturm und drang, not strum and drang.
How exactly does his doing a commercial translate into a lack of respect, regardless of the economy? He's not taking out a billboard that reads, "I'm still rich. What's your problem?"
You get your panties in a bunch every time his name is mentioned, but it is all for effect. Attention whore.
Steph, I assume you are joking when you say that one can assume that people who do commericials believe in the products they are pitching. If that were true ,then I guess the "Jesus Juice" that Michael Jackson gave to his little friends was really pepsi Cola.LMAO! :D
Interesting. It seems that anyone who doesn't agree 100% with S's opinions on K.S. must be a delusional fan ,mentally disturbed or being paid by him to make such comments on this blog. Perhaps, she should consult with a psychiatrist to help her get over her issues with her FORMER brother-in-law and let them go.Bitterness rots the soul.
It amazes me that Steph thinks American Airlines followed Kevin onto a flight and made a commercial...duh - they paid him to do a commercial the way they wanted it done (hence the empty seat next to him). Forget your past and move forward Steph...let the hatred go-life would be better that way for you. Depsite what may or may not have happened in that family - you come across nothing more than someone that is extremely jealous of Kevin.
The Anon who tried to post here what looks like an 8000-word essay on the evils of celebrity etc would do better to set up his or her (probably his) own blog or website. This is a place for punchy comments not a cunting lecture that never ends.
This is just the point I have trying to make . THIS IS JUST AN ADVERTISEMENT!It expresses a concept that the company hopes will entice you to use its product. For those of you who find this or any other commericial offensive, use that time to do something more to your liking.I find these breaks a wonderful time to read ,do needlework, pay my bills, work puzzles, review Italian verb conjugations ,use the ladies room, make a snack or order medications for my Mom over the phone.I find it a good way to keep my brain froming turning to mush .
I tried to access Randy's website today to see if there was anything new about his book. Alas, there was a message stating that Randy no longer own the rights to the domain name and it was up for grabs. Madame ,can you enlighten us on this sudden change?
Randy has set up his own website under his name. Do a little research darling...He told me that he was absolving the website name "spacey's brother"...His "family" name is Fowler. s!
Actually,I did do the research before I wrote to this blog.I used all the possible combinations I could I could come up with for Randy's name using Randell, Randy,B,Breck ,no middle initial,no middle name & Fowler. Every item that came up either lead back to Randy's old sight, someone else's site where he is mentioned or an item that is no longer accessible. I found no mention of his new website. So if you know it and Randy is OK with having it accessed by the general public, please let us know.If you prefer not to do so or he doesn't wish you to,that's fine.
Randy and I talked about his new site when we were discussing a site for my art...he has a very thriving Limo business and his new site is named ..www.rodslimos.com so, does that satisfy your curiousity...? a side note..someone sent me an note telling me about Kevin's tweets..fascinating?! very surprising, to see him tweeting... s!
Thanks,s,I found it and the mention that Randy's book may be out soon. Rod's Limos looks like fun.If I'm ever in Boise,I might hire one for a tour of the city just for fun.
"The serial bully displays behaviour congruent with many of the diagnostic criteria for Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Characterised by a pervasive pattern of grandiosity and self-importance, need for admiration, and lack of empathy, people with narcissistic personality disorder overestimate their abilities and inflate their accomplishments, often appearing boastful and pretentious, whilst correspondingly underestimating and devaluing the achievements and accomplishments of others." You must have been very unloved as a child... s!
...and than the big bad wolf, huffed and puffed but alas, couldn't blow the house down... keep trying Anonymouse... I have many more stories to tell and you amuse me... I just realized why that seat is open next to Kevin...his beloved dog..I have to say that he treats his animals with much love.. I have a great story about AA airlines...Randy and I could write a novel about that day... s~

All I know is, I'd like to be his seat-mate.
It seemed to me that he laid the ticket on the arm rest between the two seats but maybe that's just me.
yes, those are two seats..and the movie "Seven" comes to mind...remember Gluttony?

First time you make me laugh heartily, Steph. Let's celebrate ! ;-)
Oh dear, I'm just realizing that I'd certainly need at least ten seats for all my egos... but that's another story.
