Artist to eat a Corgi live on radio

In an extraordinary art event artist and animal rights activist Mark McGowan is to eat a Corgi dog live on the Radio on Tuesday 29th May 2007, in a protest against the Royals and their treatment of animals. Tragically the dog which is to be eaten died recently at a Corgi breeding farm in Southern England and is to be prepared and cooked for McGowan's consumption by two ladies. The event is to take place on the Bob and Roberta Smith radio programme on 104.4 Resonance FM at 8pm on the evening of the 29th.

McGowan says: "I know some people will find this offensive and tasteless but I am doing this to raise awarness about the RSPCA's inability to prosecute Prince Phillip and his friends shooting a fox earlier this year, letting it struggle for life for 5 minutes and then beating it to death with a stick."

Well, the Chinese are very fond of cooked puppies, aren't they? Mr. McGowan must know that. So I don't understand why this should be an event, and even less an "art event". Unless eating on the radio is now considered an original form of conceptual art in the UK ? I can't believe how snobbish some people can be... :-)

Next, McGowan should organize a debate between two dumb persons on the radio. Wouldn't that be a grand idea ?

But this is the UK not China, duralex. The eating of doggies, Corgis especially, is not encouraged.

This latest posting just confirms what a disgusting and loathesome site this is, a site for perverts and sickos. I'm coming back for more!

Well, you'll get more watching Peter Greenaway's film 'The Cook, the Thief, his Wife and her Lover'. It's fiction, but genuine art at least.

Mark McGowan, this is beyond the pale. Someone should chop off your man bits and cook them in protest of your protest. Yuck, Your point is only to draw attention to yourself. How ironic you claim to be upset by a fox hunt, any animal lovers upset over the hunt are even more offended by this idiotic stunt and your point is lost. This really turns my stomach. I hope you puked until you were green.
