The Times has parted company with long-serving arts correspondent Dalya Alberge for some reason. Ben Hoyle is being bumped up. The paper will to continue its policy of promoting graduate trainees - cheap and that's the way with dead tree journalism these days.

The source of this story isn't terribly hard to guess.
This went up long before the Guardian if that's what you're referring to. Now back to your desk labours, dearie.
I don't know why you bother with this kind of stuff. Journalists are not stars. No one's ever heard of this man or woman, it could only be of interest to a few dozen people who work in arts journalism (if that), no one gives a shit about the comings and goings on a newspaper. You're bigger than this Arcati.
Well, I assume it's in the Guardian or Indy, I really have no idea.
I have often thought of Dalya Alberge ever since meeting her on Amsterdam's Reguliersgracht canal one night 20 years ago - when she asked me the way to a certain hotel... I was living in a big house nearby - and as she seemed so sympathetic - and we had an empty attic with a bed - I suggested she stay with us... which, finally - she agreed to even though she absolutely 'didn't want to impose'! That's the sort of person she is - how many people would you invite like that after a few seconds?! She was over for the weekend and we all got on so well as if we'd known each other for ages. Later we exchanged a few cards, but somehow lost touch
as you can - but I still have a photo in the album of her brandishing a tin of croissants sitting next to some pink tulips!
I didn't know she was arts correpondent for The Times, but I know she would have been excellent
and I'm sure - in these straitened times she will proceed admirably!
Funny that she's been so much in my thoughts these last few days -
perhaps our paths will cross again soon - I hope so!
Thank you - Perhaps Dalya will get in touch and tell us more about the Times.
