Flash fiction: Mummy Deadest

Her mother died that night and they removed the Interactive Immortality Chip tucked in her left earlobe and placed it in the Interactive Immortality Set for instant conversation.

“Hi, Carol, I’m back darling,” it said.

“God, hi mum, it really works. How does it feel?”

“Oh, wonderful. But you’re not going out tonight, are you?”

Carol’s heart sank.
